How To Grow

Good pest and disease resistance

Can have issues with aphids, Viburnum whitefly and Viburnum beetle. Check the leaves regularly for any possible infestation. If you see aphids or whitefly, pick the bugs off by hand and spray the infected area with some soapy water. You can also plant a companion plant nearby such as Marigolds. These will attract predatory insects such as ladybirds that will eat the bugs. With Viburnum beetle, damaged leaves are often discoloured with brown dried up edges to the holes. The beetles and larvae can be removed by hand, or you can encourage their predators - birds and ground beetles. Where possible tolerate populations of larvae and adult beetles, as Viburnums usually recover well.

Full sun, partial shade or full shade

The best flowers will result from growing in full sun, but this plant will do well in any light conditions.

Any moist, well-drained soil

Thrives in a variety of soils as long as they're well-draining. If your soil is particularly clay-heavy and/or gets waterlogged often then consider mixing in plenty of organic matter such as garden compost and possibly some perlite to improve drainage.

No pruning required

Pruning Group 8 - best left unpruned except for removal of unsightly shoots and deadheading, unless some shaping is required.
