Description

  • Few plants can boast having won RHS Chelsea's esteemed Plant of the Year award, but 'Mojo Berry' is one of them, having deservedly picked up the prestigious accolade back in 2017.
  • Yielding sumptuously juicy berries and producing delicate, late springtime flowers, this tough lil' plant is making mulberries fashionable again, and doing so in style.
  • With its long harvest season (from May to September) and compact habit, growing to just 1.5m in height, this patio tree is a must-have for any discerning home chefs and bakers out there. Mulberry jam, anyone?
  • This plant is one speedy customer, producing fruit on old and new wood alike, meaning you'll get mulberries within the first year of planting!
  • A self-fertile variety, 'Mojo Berry' doesn't require a pollinating partner in order to bear its delicious fruit.

How To Grow

Good pest and disease resistance

Rarely troubled by pests, may occasionally be impacted by leaf spot and powdery mildews.

Water regularly

A patio mulberry tree will require more regular watering than a plant grown in the ground, especially during hot, dry spells.

Full sun

Grows best in full sun (at least six hours of direct sunlight per day).

Moist, well-drained compost

Your patio mulberry tree will do best when planted in moist, well-drained compost (something soil-based like John Innes No. 3 is a good option).

Feed throughout the growing season

During the growing season, apply a balanced liquid (or seaweed) feed every fortnight.

Meet Josh's trusted specialists

Start with a touch of continental sun

Over 99% of our plants are grown in the UK, but where that’s not possible, Josh sources the best specialist growers in Europe for the job. Think citrus warmed by Sicilian sun, topiary trained by Dutch masters, almonds nourished in the Dordogne and bamboo bathed in Tuscan heat. Our handpicked growers nurture these plants to maturity before handing over to our team in the South Downs, to toughen them up for UK gardens.
