H3 - plant out after the last frost and they should do well throughout the growing season and into autumn. It will last through the winter into the following spring when you can move it back outside after the last frost.

Spacing:

20-40cm
In a basket or pot you can space your Osteospermums 20cm apart, which should roughly allow you to fit 3 plants to a 30cm pot/basket. If you are planting in a bed you can plant up to 40cm apart for the plants to grow up to a larger size.

How To Grow

Good pest and disease resistance

One issue osteospermums can have is with aphids: check the leaves regularly for any possible infestation. If you see some, pick the bugs off and spray the infected area with some soapy water. You can also plant a companion plant nearby, such as marigolds, which will attract predatory insects such as ladybirds.

Water regularly

Water to keep the soil consistently moist. During hot, dry spells, this can require you to water the plant every day, especially if the plant is in a hanging basket or pot.

Full Sun

Osteospermums should be planted somewhere they receive around 6-8 hours of direct sunlight every day.

Moderately fertile, well-drained soil

Osteospermums can tolerate poorer soils so potting compost is not necessary but the soil should be well-draining.

Feed regularly

Feed every two weeks during the growing period with a general purpose plant food.
