The highlights

  • A flavour to suit every taste
  • Compact, heavy-cropping varieties
  • Eat your apples fresh or bake in desserts
  • Enjoy from September to March

Description

  • Our expert apple growers have chosen their four favourite varieties which crop at different times in the apple season - giving you a steady supply of apples from early September right through to March, with no overwhelming glut and no waste. Make your apple trees work smarter, not harder!
  • The collection includes:
    1. 'Cox's Orange Pippin'
    2. 'James Grieve'
    3. 'Bramley's Seedling'
    4. 'Elstar'
  • A British classic since 1825, 'Cox's Orange Pippin' is widely regarded as having the best flavour of any dessert apple, with connoisseurs detecting notes of pear, melon, orange and mango in its complex taste
  • 'James Grieve' is an RHS award winning dual purpose apple which holds its shape well when cooked and sweetens for eating straight from the tree as the season goes on. Extremely reliable and a heavy cropper.
  • If you want apple pies, come this way... 'Bramley's Seedling' is an award-winning variety, renowned as the best cooking apple. Sharp, acidic flesh breaks down into a wonderfully smooth puree. Can also be used for juicing or ciders.
  • Late season 'Elstar' is an RHS award winning dual purpose apple which is perfect for eating fresh or cooking. It is known to be especially good for making homemade (and homegrown!) apple sauces.
  • All of these apples crop heavily and store well - the easy way to harvest more apples for longer.
  • Our trees are professionally pruned before dispatching. This formative pruning can involve cutting the main leader, if the expert tree growers decide this will produce a better shaped tree. This can stop the tree becoming "leggy", and promote stronger, bushier growth.MORE
