How To Grow

Excellent pest and disease resistance

Doesn't typically experience problems with pests or disease.

Water well when establishing

Coneflowers require regular watering for their first 12 months or so as they establish and bed in. Beyond this, though, they're fairly drought-tolerant and will only tend to need watering in hot, dry spells.

Full sun

Loves to be planted where it will receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.

Any fertile, well-drained soil

Plant in any well-drained soil (preferably it's also fertile). If you notice that your soil is particularly poor, then add some garden compost or horticultural grit to improve aeration.

Feed in winter

No heavy fertilising is required, however you can consider evenly spreading a mulch of rich compost or well-rotted manure over your echinacea each winter.
