How To Grow

Excellent pest and disease resistance

Sempervivum are generally trouble-free. Watch out for birds trying to uproot newly planted specimens - you can string across some taut thread to keep them off.

Water in hot weather

Sempervivum like to be watered in dry weather, but can survive happily without. Outdoor plants will not need watering in winter.

Full sun

Plant in a sunny, sheltered position with around 6-8 hours of sunlight daily

Sandy, well drained soil

Plant in sandy, well draining soil (not clay) - you can dig in some sand when planting if necessary, or use succulent compost

Feed if grown in pots

Plants growing in the ground won't need any fertiliser, but if you're growing indoors/in pots it's a good idea to use a liquid general purpose feed monthly
